As you can see I have recieved my Cintiq. About three days ago that is. I’ve been playing around with it getting familiar with the way it works and I have to say “why did I wait so long to get this thing?” Oh yeah cause it costs $999. It’s an investment yes but it’s worth it. And the turn around with this tablet as opposed to hand drawing scanning, re-inking and such is much quicker. Although I still love my traditional mediums I still have paper and pencils around to keep practicing. But I think my husband is annoyed with it right now cause I’ve said almost every hour how much I love this piece of equipment.
So this week I’ve gotten two pages completed and uploaded to the site and tomorrow another page will be up or two. I am also working on some fan arts and color practice, and finishing up some commissions.
Well anyway back to work.
Well spent most of the 4 hours working on this image trying to fix the Cintiq driver cause everytime I had put my pen to the tablet it would move the cursor to a different screen. Not what I wanted it to do so I had to reinstall the drivers and update it and reconfigure my user interface for the tablet. So I got this page done. I have to say I love this tablet regardless of the minor headache I have with it but I have made sure not to do what I did before to make it go crazy. So now it’s set and I am not touching the configuration for anything after this. So pages are coming along great. The next page might be updated tomorrow as I am going to work on it without problems this time around. =3
So I will be getting a Cintiq tablet soon within the next two weeks. Here’s hoping that I’ am getting it because I’m not sure how our tax return will pan out. I’m still going to get some more pages done before then or at least try. Also if and when I do get a Cintiq this Graphire 3 of mine might have to see a new owner or be sent to storage and collect dust. If anyone is interested in having a used Graphire tablet let me know. Use to contact form if you are really interested. It’s seen alot of love and the only scratches it has is from using the pen. I take great care of the tablet and the mouse is stained a little on the bottom but that doesn’t effect it’s ablilty to work. I’m not going to make any guarantee about giving up my Graphire until I actually have the Cintip physically in my possession so an update will be posted if anything happens.
Here’s to hoping I get updates in faster and I can probably work on a new series I had in my head for a while along with DE. I guess the deal my husband wanted to put on the table was, if he gets me a Cintiq he wants a new phone. The Droid from Google. Also it was either a new computer or a Cintiq and I’ve been eyeing that Cintiq for over three years now. I think it’s time to get it or I will sulk for another year.
I’ve also was working on a coloring video tutorial and was adding the captions in but then I forgot to save the newest caption and lost like 5 mins of caption as well as 1 hour of work getting the caption right for it. So I am sad for now and will work on that another day because I am kicking myself for a simple mistake.
Well I hope you guys have a wonderful week.
I’m trying to hold off making new pages until I get my replacements pen nibs for my graphire pen tablet. I can see that the nib is a bit worn down. So the next pages won’t be up til I get them. I went on a frenzied rampage looking for replacement nibs because I don’t want to buy another tablet unless it’s a Cintiq or a big Intuos. So I searched and searched and took me a while to navigate through wacom site to actually find nibs that are good replacements for my pen.
The Graphire seems to be discontinued or rather has been renamed the Bamboo. I’m not too fond of the Bamboo and I have no idea why. I look at it and I just can’t get myself to yearn for it as I did for my Graphire. It’s kinda frustrating but at least I know they still have replacement nibs. And if those nibs don’t work well I guess I blew 5 bucks for them. That could’ve been a months worth of Ramen Noodles man.
So anyway to any of the artist out there that hasn’t let go of their Graphire tablets and wants to find replacement nibs for them I’ll post the link to them when I can. It’s 12 in the morning and I don’t want to search Wacom’s site again.
