So I am trying to figure out how to make a read more link to each of the blog post. I really don’t like having to see the page stretch so long due to my sometimes long/ranting post from time to time, but I can’t seem to find a solution to it. Maybe it has something to do with Comicpress? Or is there possibly a WordPress plugin that I have to look up for it. I tried adding and excerpt to see if that fixes the issue but the blog posts with excerpts don’t seem to take effect. I guess it’s not coded into Comicpress at all because I have searched high and low throughout the plugin to find out where I can just make it and excerpt with a read more link. Mainly for the blog part of the site not the comic.
Reading up on the WordPress codex site I can try with this post and see if the excerpt example they have works. Maybe. If it does then I’ll have to remember to use this formatting whenever I post long unending tales of what is on my mind about updates and the site.
It looks like excerpts don’t work in Comicpress theme. Or at least even when I added functions to the childfunction theme, I would have to go to the index.php or where the blog functions are at and add an little code to make it show excerpts instead of the whole post, but I can’t seem to find out where to put it at. Love Comicpress but again, the coding organization is a mess. I know I know, if I’m complaining about it so much why don’t I code my own comic wp addon? Well answer is simple, I don’t know how to code in PHP. Surely I know how to read what the code does, and if I can read it I surely can code right? Not entirely true. Some people can read the code and not be able to code their own. For me it’s not that I don’t know how to code it, just simply that the code doesn’t stick to with me long enough for me to make use of it. Probably the learning disorder of “starting to get old.” Or I’m just not smart enough to maintain the code.
Or I’m just a bimbo, cause girls don’t know how to internets. /sarcasm.
