No updates this week, but I’ve spent most of the day sketching out 8 upcoming pages of the comic. I might sketch up some more tomorrow depending on when I get up. I had to call it a night after the 8th page I did but my goal is to try to get chapter 2 finished before the end of the year and at least get started on Chapter 3. I’m not too sure if I will be able to keep the upcoming chapters colored but I will try my best. If it looks like the coloring is taking too long or deriving the site from it’s scheduled updates I’ll have to cut down on the coloring to just 5-10 pages and do the rest in tone. We shall see when the time comes.
After June 27th Decimated Eden will be set on a schedule update. Probably twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays it will be updated. I haven’t worked out the kinks of what days to update yet. I also will do some pages in color of course this will start in the Chapter 3. So each first few pages of the chapter will be in color and then back to black and white and toned. I don’t think I feel the need to do the whole manga in color since I’m not that great of a colorist, mainly with backgrounds, but I suppose it’s in good practice right?
More pages and I’d like some girl scout cookies please.
March 28th, 2010 | by PhoenixCrashSo I have worked on 13 soon to be toned pages. They are inked and paneled out and would need to be toned soon. Apparently I suck at toning and I look back at the recent works and I’m sad to say it sucks, but well if I don’t practice I can’t get better right? I’ll have to do some research and more light study and read up on the toning process again. I need to make a spreadsheet and work on trying make sure each character are set with the same tone they started with.
It’s that time of year again, in which Girl Scout cookies are on sale. My husband bought two boxes of Thin Mints for me and now it’s all gone cause my daughter has stolen most of it. I swear I only get like 10 cookies out of the box for myself and she steals the rest. I need to remember how long the Girl Scouts sells these cookies cause I need some more before they stop selling them.
Anyway I’m back to the subject at hand, I might just go do some color pages if the toning don’t work out well. I’ve been working on some Sailor Moon fan art lately and I have been writing up a new manga series. Which any new series will be found at my other domain Cygnus Dreams.
Until next update.

As you can see I have recieved my Cintiq. About three days ago that is. I’ve been playing around with it getting familiar with the way it works and I have to say “why did I wait so long to get this thing?” Oh yeah cause it costs $999. It’s an investment yes but it’s worth it. And the turn around with this tablet as opposed to hand drawing scanning, re-inking and such is much quicker. Although I still love my traditional mediums I still have paper and pencils around to keep practicing. But I think my husband is annoyed with it right now cause I’ve said almost every hour how much I love this piece of equipment.
So this week I’ve gotten two pages completed and uploaded to the site and tomorrow another page will be up or two. I am also working on some fan arts and color practice, and finishing up some commissions.
Well anyway back to work.
I’m trying to hold off making new pages until I get my replacements pen nibs for my graphire pen tablet. I can see that the nib is a bit worn down. So the next pages won’t be up til I get them. I went on a frenzied rampage looking for replacement nibs because I don’t want to buy another tablet unless it’s a Cintiq or a big Intuos. So I searched and searched and took me a while to navigate through wacom site to actually find nibs that are good replacements for my pen.
The Graphire seems to be discontinued or rather has been renamed the Bamboo. I’m not too fond of the Bamboo and I have no idea why. I look at it and I just can’t get myself to yearn for it as I did for my Graphire. It’s kinda frustrating but at least I know they still have replacement nibs. And if those nibs don’t work well I guess I blew 5 bucks for them. That could’ve been a months worth of Ramen Noodles man.
So anyway to any of the artist out there that hasn’t let go of their Graphire tablets and wants to find replacement nibs for them I’ll post the link to them when I can. It’s 12 in the morning and I don’t want to search Wacom’s site again.
